I'm such a language nut.
Jwaye Noel - Haitian Creole
Buon Natale - Italian
Feliz Navidad - Spanish
Geseënde Kersfees - Afrikaans
Bon Nadal - Catalan
Cristmas-e-shoma mobarak bashad - Farsi
Bo Nada - Galician
Merry Christmas!
Bonus points to whoever can name at least one country that speaks the above languages. Yea, some are easy, but can you name them all?

Merry Christmas Eve!
On this Christmas eve I want to share one of my favorite passages with you from Luke 1. This is Mary's response of praise to God for allowing her to birth the Messiah.
And Mary said,
"My soul magnifies the Lord,
and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
for he has looked on the humble estate of his servant.
For behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed;
for he who is mighty has done great things for me,
and holy is his name.
And his mercy is for those who fear him
from generation to generation.
He has shown strength with his arm;
he has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts;
he has brought down the mighty from their thrones
and exalted those of humble estate;
he has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich he has sent away empty.
He has helped his servant Israel,
in remembrance of his mercy,
as he spoke to our fathers,
to Abraham and to his offspring forever."
May our souls magnify the Lord this Christmas and every day just as Mary's did!

Merry Christmas!
Today has been an ultimate day of relaxation. Actually, I've had several relaxing days in the past week. I LOVE being here at home again with my family instead of a 8x8 white wall dorm room writing papers. Can I say how wonderful it is here? I most certainly miss my friends and wonderful fiance, but I will see him tomorrow for Christmas!
Today consisted of sleeping late, wrapping the last of the Christmas gifts and a few birthday gifts, getting my car checked out (b/c it ends up in the shop EVERY time I come home, really...it does), some episodes of Clean House and Full House (no relation, maybe I have a thing for "house" titled shows) then finally dinner at the BBQ Place & More for my awesome cousin's birthday and dessert at his house where a little Wii cow racing and Wii pool took place. All in all, a relaxing day.
I also received a letter from Jhesica, my girl I sponsor through Compassion, today. Her letters always light up my day. I can't help but wonder why in God's sovereignty I am sitting here with my own laptop on a new, comfy couch with warm, clean pajamas and children like Jhesica and so many others have so little. I do know God is sovereign and does not make mistakes, I just wonder why. I also watched this video today. Check it out.
Join me in praying for the children of the world. Merry Christmas!

Holiday goodness
If you know me, you know I love to cook just don't get to a lot. Hopefully that'll change since school is finished for now. I stumbled across this blog, The Pioneer Woman, and there is a recipe for homemade cinnamon rolls that looks absolutely AMAZING, because we all know the key to a good recipe is a good picture.

See, don't you agree? You should check out this site! The recipe makes 7 pans too!

I'm back
After almost a month, I'm returning to blog world...for who knows how long. I have a few blogs that I read daily and when they skip a day of posting I find myself wondering why in the world could they possibly skip a day of letting me know their daily thoughts? Then I realize no one probably reads my blog anymore because I've been SEVERAL days without posting anything. So here goes once more...
2 nights this week, yes, 2, have been spent wrapping gifts. I must say there are few things I enjoy more than sitting on my parent's bed with my mom, spreading out all of the paper, ribbon, nametags and making creative bows to cover the packages. I also enjoy the search of purchasing ALL of my wrapping supplies during the days after Christmas at Dollar General and Walmart. Yes, I'm a cheap wrapper. You can't beat $.50 rolls of wired ribbon! (Which has become my personal favorite ribbon of choice.)
I'm also the fan of cute, simple paper. Whoever thought that characters like tweety bird, micky mouse or even Hannah Montana (yes, it's at Walmart) should be on wrapping paper should seriously examine their style.
There are a couple of blogs I think you should definitely check out.
Haiti Rescue Center's
Two Haitian Princesses'
Big Mama's
These are 3 blogs that I read EVERY day, without fail. You should too.
