Freshness, Cleanliness and Warm Sunshine

So I am inspired...I love days like this. The sun is shining, warm weather is approaching, flowers are beginning to bloom and thus I have the desire to clean out, organize and decorate for the spring.

This all began with me searching for a recipe using spaghetti squash (if you have a good one, please pass it on). Then Martha Stewart's show just happened to be on television. This mention of Martha needs clarification because if you know me, then you have heard me mention (sarcastically) that I believe Martha will birth the antichrist or something; but, please know that I adore all of her ways and frequent her website often, I just think she's a little odd personally. I then proceeded to clean out the refrigerator, wash the few dirty dishes that were in the sink and return to my bedroom to see Martha finishing up by preparing a fresh display of lilies.

I do realize that probably fully stereotypes me as some "wanna-be housewife ocd girl"; however, I really do love to organize and decorate - especially when the sun is warmly beaming forth through my window.
What a lovely day!

Jhesica

So the infamous test from the last blog is now over and I feel that I definitely did much better than on the previous one; however, next week we shall see if that is true.
I just watched the video of some of the SL staff eating balut (a philippine delicacy) while they were in the Philippines. Wow...I honestly don't think I have the guts to try that. They say it is an 18-21 week old fertilized duck egg...I think I've got it right...anyways, the baby has grown enough to have a beak and feathers and people eat this! O my, that is one "delicacy" that I don't want to try!
To tie this story together with a point, they were there with Compassion International. I sponsor a little girl through Compassion named Jhesica who lives in Bolivia. She is now in the first grade and draws me beautiful, colorful pictures. I strongly believe in this organization and have seen and spoken with people whose lives have been drastically changed through this organization. That God would place me here in Alabama while placing Jhesica in a poverty-stricken area of Bolivia remains a mystery to me; however, I do know that he does all things for his glory. Could it be that he receives more glory in humbling me and miraculously providing for her than if things had been "perfect" as we would like to call them? Who knows? This is a constant challenge for me. I find it difficult to remember that when Gap suddenly has a huge sale or the strap on my purse is a little worn and suddenly I "need" a new one. Through Jhesica's letters I see how she is learning her vowels and about her Savior. O how I would love to meet her and see her smiling face! My prayer is that God would continue to keep me grounded and grow in me an even stronger love for the nations!
If you have any questions at all about sponsoring a child I would love to try to be of some help and if you would like to sponsor a child, you can easily do so by visiting www.compassion.com

To begin again...

It's time to begin blogging again! I honestly don't know how often this will happen due to the craziness that is 15 hrs of classes with no "easy-going" classes; but, I shall try to post often.

Today has flown by mainly because I have been studying ALL day long for a test in my business Spanish class in the morning. That class is VERY detailed!! I know it will be good for me in the long run; however, right now on the night before the test it seems quite overwhelming.

A few facts from capítulos 4-6 (chapters 4-6) that you might like to know:
Rigoberta Menchú fue una luchadora por los derechos civiles de los indígenas, las
mujeres y los obreros en Guatemala. (Rigoberta Menchú was a activist
for the civil rights of the indigenous people, women and the working
class in Guatemala.)
Panamá está conocido como el "Hong Kong" de Centroamérica. (Panama is known as
the "Hong Kong" of Central America.)

For all who may read this, a prayer for this examen would be well appreciated!

Gracias a todos y buenas noches...Thank you all and good night!
